in different ways

Volunteers are the life-blood of the Oasis community – without them, we simply couldn’t do what we do.

Volunteering at Oasis Hub Oldham, for either location, Leeksbrook or Hollinwood, is a chance to gain valuable work experience, learn new skills, meet new people and contribute to the life of the community. There are a wide variety of opportunities, whether it’s an hour on Sunday, an entire day during the week, an evening project or something you can do at home — see below for our weekly volunteering calendar, and if you’d like to know more about how to get involved, please email us.

At Oasis Hub Oldham we are committed to work in partnership.  We believe that a network of community organisations, businesses and individuals is essential to see our communities grow and be all that they can be. We have included some our key partners below and if you would like to find out more or join us on this journey please CONTACT US.

Oldham launches community response to support those in emergency need

The Council, Oldham Foodbank and Action Together are working together to coordinate the delivery of emergency food and other essential personal and household basic items to people in need.

This offer will be for people who are unable to leave the house and don’t have a trusted friend, neighbour or family member to help them. This could be someone of any age.

A new hotline is now live on 0161 770 7007 for people to call for help. The hotline will be open from 9am–5pm on weekdays and 11am to 2pm on weekends.

After calling the helpline we aim to get back to people in 24 hours and a package will be coordinated in the following days. The food will be a basic package of items and other essential such as sanitary products and basic toiletries. The delivery of prescriptions medicines will be handled separately by local pharmacies who will be contacting people on GP lists.

For people in a genuine emergency

The offer is for people in the local community who are genuinely in emergency need because they are self-isolating and don’t have any friends or neighbours who can support them or are unable to leave the house to shop for these items.
